Coffee has been around for centuries and is one of the most popular drinks in the world. Many people rely on this beverage to start their day. I’m one of them. I love coffee and drink it every morning. What do you know,  I’m drinking coffee as I’m typing this.  My routine:  Coffee in the morning and tea for the rest of the day – which brings me to the iconic #FolgersJingle:

The Best Part of Wakin’ Up™…

We all know the famous Folgers jingle. It has become a piece of pop culture  — something we always start singing along with as soon as we hear it.

                Calling all musicians!

Celebrating the rich traditions of American music, Folgers® is inviting aspiring musicians to make the well-known tune their own. This year, Folgers has teamed up with one of Nashville’s best: Singer-songwriter Chris Young.

Folgers Jingle

DIY painted mugsDIY painted mugsDIY painted mugWhen my girls were tiny toddlers, I started sharing my holiday baking tradition with them. Fast forward 17 years. Baking cookies is still their favorite thing to do during the holiday season. It’s the one thing that has to happen no matter how crazy life gets.DIY painted mugsOver the years the kids have grown taller and older but nothing has changed about our baking tradition. Whenever we bake, the kitchen is a huge mess. Flour is everywhere as are chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. Christmas songs (but even ABBA and Celine Dion) blast through the small speakers, and spatulas become our microphones. Quite the scene, let me tell you. Better than any reality show.DIY painted mugsDIY Painted MugsWe are usually in our pajama pants and by the time we finish, our tummies are full of sugar, our hearts full of joy. Dinner doesn’t happen that day and clean up takes several hours. I love all of it. I wish I could capture it in a bottle and drink or smell from it when I feel down.DIY Painted MugsThe girls are grown now (boy is a preteen) but the baking continues. Nothing can stop our tradition – not even divorce, out-of-state move, or a tight budget.DIY painted mugsThe one thing that has changed is that now my girls are old enough to share a cup of coffee with me. There is something so peaceful about sitting on the couch with them, drinking coffee, eating cookies and chatting about life. A cup of coffee with home-baked goodies and people I love – priceless.DIY painted mugsAnd because my girls enjoy coffee so much I decided to give each a painted mug with a bag of coffee for Christmas. I think they’ll be very happy with this gift. Ask any college student for their top gift wishes – Coffee is usually one of the things they ask for.

DIY painted mugsI hope the mugs will remind them of our cozy time on the couch during the holiday season.DIY painted mugsDIY painted mugsA painted mug is easy to make. All you need for this DIY gift is a sharpie or glass paint marker and an inexpensive mug. DIY painted mugsAfter you draw your design,  allow the mug to air cure approximately 8 hours, then bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes in non-preheated oven. Allow mug to cool with oven door open. Now the mug is dishwasher safe.
Starbucks at KrogerAt Kroger I found great coffee to go with the mugs. I think Starbucks French Roast and Starbucks Veranda Blend will be perfect for them. The Starbucks House Blend stays with me. It will pair perfectly with our cookies. I can’t wait to share it with the girls when they come home for the holidays.

If you want to gift or share Starbucks coffee with your loved ones, right now you can get a $5 Starbucks Card e-gift when you purchase 3 or more qualifying Starbucks products.

What are your family holiday traditions? Do you enjoy a good cup of coffee as much as we do? xo Sabine

How To Jazz Up Your Coffee + Giveaway

“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Folgers. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”folgersI have to admit, I love coffee, and even though I only drink one cup a day, I need that extra boost in the morning.  You see, mornings start early at our house. Even though I am a morning person by nature, waking up at 5:45 a.m. is even tough for me and I don’t feel energized until I have a cup of coffee.folgers lfavorsThe first thing I do when I wake is look at my phone. I check for any missed calls or texts I received since I always turn off my ringer at night. Now that fall is here, I usually turn on the heater to make the house cozy and warm.fall foliageThe next thing I do is wake up my son, which is not an easy task. A growing 12 year-old boy doesn’t want to be up at the crack of dawn. While Danny rolls over, ignoring my wake up call, I am off to the kitchen to make coffee and say ‘hi’ to my little pooches who are happy to see me. I wish I could be this energetic first thing in the morning.

This is the calm before a busy, hectic morning. Let the search for missing shoes, books, glasses, clean clothes begin. The race to make the 6:35 a.m. school bus is on. Thank goodness for coffee!folgers flavorsMy coffee routine has been the same for as long as I can remember. Coffee, milk, a hint  of sugar. Good but a bit boring.  Thanks to Folgers, I now have a pretty tasty way to jazz up my coffee.  If you want a fun little spin on the typical cup you drink each day you need to try Folgers Flavors.  folgers flavorsThese little squeeze bottles are concentrated flavor enhancers and are great in both iced and hot coffee. With Folgers Flavors you can customize your coffee. The handy little bottles come in four flavors: Hazelnut, Caramel, Mocha, and Vanilla. I love, love anything with hazelnut – It’s like Nutella coffee. Seriously, so good. Caramel is my second favorite.folgers flavorsMy morning coffee is warming, soothing, and despite its bad rap, in small doses coffee is actually good for you. It’s filled with B vitamins and magnesium, and it even clears the liver and bowel of harmful toxins. It also helps increase your metabolism. Did you know coffee is great to drink right before you work out?work outThe key to keep it healthy is to avoid the sugars and creams coffee often comes with, and instead, make your own with a few alterations to it. I like to use regular sugar to sweeten my coffee, and almond milk or regular milk as creamer. Now I also add a small squeeze of Folgers Flavors.folgers flavors

Another thing that’s great about Folgers Flavors is that they don’t require refrigeration. The small bottles are great for when you’re on- the- go. I will for sure throw a couple of bottles in my purse when I visit my daughter in Chicago. Why not keep a bottle in your car?folgers flavorsIf you want to #RemixYourCoffee experience, add Folgers Flavors to your coffee and you’ll never look at a cup of “joe” the same way again!

Speaking of remix, here’s a fun video by YouTube sensation Mike Tompkins. He has put his unique spin on the iconic Folgers jingle and created an original a capella version. This guy is so talented. Check out  Mike’s YouTube page and his other videos.

P.S. Here’s a fun giveaway. One lucky reader will win two bottles of Folgers Flavors. Enter below. Good luck! For more information visit www.Folgerscoffee.com.
