GIVEAWAY! HomeRight ElectroLight Fire Starter

electrolite

electrolight

Last year, I got my first charcoal grill. One of the things that kept me from getting one for so long was the lighter fluid situation. I’m not a fan of lighter fluid and certainly didn’t want a gasoline scented burger. Turns out, I didn’t need lighter fluid.

HomeRight let me try their ElectroLight Fire Starter. The ElectroLight allows you to easily light your charcoal barbecue grill, wood burning fireplace or fire pit in 2-3 minutes. It uses high 1,300°F temperature air to ignite and then fan the flames with built-in blower. No need for lighter fluid or other starter chemicals.

  • Durable polycarbonate handle, aluminum cooling shroud, steel cased heating element and cooling stand
  • Intermittent power switch controls heating element and blower
  • 10 ft. heavy gauge grounded power cord
  • Durable heating element, motor and switch to last for hundreds of lights
  • 2-year limited manufacturer warranty

Charcoal grilling is well worth the extra effort. If you apply a little patience, a charcoal grill can probably cook some of the most flavorful, mouth-watering meals.

GIVEAWAY

Now one of my readers can win an ElectroLight. Your coals will be ready fast and your food won’t taste like gasoline. Good luck!

Steam Cleaning: Safe, Cost Effective & Powerful

steamercollage

I have wanted a steam cleaner for my tile floors for a long time. With two dogs and three kids, the kitchen floor needs a good cleaning every week. But no matter how hard I scrub or what cleaner I use, the floor never seems to get REALLY clean. The floor may look clean, but it’s actually  sticky, grimy and smelly. By the end of the day, our socks and feet are always black.

When the HomeRight Steam Machine arrived I couldn’t wait to try it out. Assembly was very quick and easy, start-up instructions were easy to follow and given a few minutes to warm up, I was off and steaming.

I found it worked excellent on tile floors and really seemed to disinfect them quickly and easily. The high pressurized steam blasts the surface clean and the cleaning pad wipes the surface clean. What I really love about the HomeRight SteamMachine is that it cleans without any chemicals. The SteamMachine leaves behind no chemical residue and kills 99% of all germs and bacteria.

I am ashamed to say it, but my floor was filthy. The steamer went deep down and pulled out this much dirt and grime. Yuck! I am very pleased to say that I can now walk barefoot on my tile and the floor actually feels clean. The power of steam is truly amazing.

This machine also has an attachment for any task that you can think of. The attachments all have a very heavy-duty compartment that they snugly fit into. Whatever the application – from cleaning carpeting, curtains, toilets, sinks, kitchen appliances and even windows, to removing wallpaper – this steam cleaner will handle it all.

I am in love with this little gadget. This may sound strange, but after steaming the kitchen floor, I felt the entire atmosphere change in the house. It just felt so much cleaner.

I love the size of this steamer. It’s not bulky at all – it’s lightweight and easy to store. The main reason I wanted a steamer is to keep the floors clean and bacteria-free as much as possible. Since this steamer is so versatile, I can’t wait to use it on just about EVERYTHING else. I am excited to clean my mattresses, car upholstery and rugs. But I won’t stop there; I’ll take the steamer outside to clean my windows and patio furniture. There are so many creative uses for steam cleaning. And all you need is water. Honestly, I am so grateful to have this cleaner.

My first experience with a HomeRight product  (which was a very good one) was when I used their paint sprayer to paint the exterior of my house. If you want to read about my first paint sprayer experience, click here.

I did it! – I painted the exterior of my house

***I received a HomeRight product in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% mine.***

homerightcollagemainSince purchasing my home in 2014, I have worked hard on many projects. The most time-consuming project by far was refinishing the hardwood floors by myself. Talking about sweat equity! There was more than just sweat involved. How about sweat-blood-bruises equity? Anyway, even though the work was hard, I was very happy with the outcome. I also saved thousands of dollars.

Three months ago, I decided to give the exterior a face lift. The old paint was chipping and I never cared for the yellowish/beige exterior paint the house came with. As with all my projects, I researched the heck out of exterior painting. It’s a big job, to say the least, but someone’s gotta do it. Prep work – which includes pressure washing, scraping off old paint, caulking, priming – is sooo long, but it needs to get done or your paint job is a big waste of time and money.benregal7

I was so happy when HomeRight graciously sent over their Titanium Heavy Duty Paint Sprayer to help me speed up my painting process. And boy, did it help!homeright3I wasn’t able to use the sprayer for the trim, but it worked like magic on my aluminum siding. I had never used a paint sprayer before this project but I had no issue using this one. What I love about the HomeRight Titanium Sprayer is the easy set up. You just take it out of the box and you are ready to go in just minutes.homerightcollage1

Step 1: Put a few drops of oil in the two spots on the underside of the unit.

Step 2: Fill the cup with paint or stain. I thinned my paint a little.

Step 3: Attach the cup with paint back on.

Step 4: Twist the dial on the back of the unit to adjust the amount of paint you want to come out. I went sort of in the middle since I didn’t want paint on my brick.

Step 5: Plug the unit in and practice on a piece of cardboard.homerightcollage2Now you are ready to go.

hoemright14homerightcollagehoemright7homeright30It took about 30 minutes to spray the side of the house. It would have taken me hours to do the same job using a paintbrush.

Here’s the house before the paint job.NewHouse2

homeright5FabRugFinal4 I wish I would have had the paint sprayer when I stained my deck. deck9I spent hours on my knees applying the stain. Never again!

Painting the exterior of a house sounds intimidating to most people – but it’s doable – with patience, hard work, and the right tools.  You will save thousands of dollars, and more so, the pride you feel after accomplishing such a huge task, is priceless.
