Anne Frank’s step sister will share her story of triumph, tolerance and peace.
Eva Schloss, Anne Frank’s childhood friend and step sister, will share the unimaginable experience of living through the fear and panic which was the Holocaust. This is a special opportunity to hear a first-hand account from someone whose life intersected with one of the most compelling figures in our history.
As time passes, there will be fewer opportunities to hear from actual Holocaust survivors and one day, there won’t be any. Please don’t let the chance to hear Eva’s inspiring message of peace slip by.
For more than 30 years, Eva Schloss has devoted herself to holocaust education and global peace. She has recounted her wartime experiences in more than one thousand speaking engagements and has written 2 books.
She’s also giving an inside look into the life of Anne Frank and her revolutionary diary, showing the real-life people behind the textbook history lessons.

Are you a fan of Johnny Cash?
A few days ago, I played tourist in my hometown of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Although I’ve lived here for more than five years, I had never visited the gravesite of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. I have seen the Cash’s house on the lake, though.
The graves are at the Hendersonville Memory Gardens, located just 25 minutes north of Nashville. It’s a beautiful final resting place for two of the greatest legends in country music.
When I arrived, not a single person was around. This place is very peaceful and serene. I parked at the funeral home and walked just a short distance (slightly uphill) until I found the gravesite. It’s in the center of the cemetery, straight across from the main entrance.
The gravesite of Johnny Cash is simple but pretty and you could see that visitors had left flowers.
Some of their family members are buried here as well. Reba Cash Hancock (Johnny’s sister) is buried right next to Johnny and June.
There are a few other music legends who rest here – Merle Kilgore, Ferlin Husky, and Sheb Wooley.
While there, I said a prayer for my mom and her brother. Both went to heaven a few months ago. I stood there, tears streaming down my face, and could hear their voices as I once did when the were with us.
It feels odd to say this, but this truly is a lovely place. I would highly recommend a visit, especially if you’re a fan of Johnny Cash. If you go, please be respectful, it is a final resting place.
Last week, my family received an invitation to dine at Texas de Brazil in Nashville. Two words: TOP NOTCH! This wasn’t “just” dinner… this was a dining experience. We marveled at the excellence of the food and were blown away by the incredible service we received. From the hostess, to the waiter, to the meat servers, to the manager; everyone working there was top notch.
Texas de Brazil is upscale yet laid back. The restaurant offers a salad bar with all kinds of options such as sushi, cheeses, veggies, soups (lobster bisque), Brazilian specialties, etc.
The servers (Gauchos) go around with meat on skewers cutting meat off as you grab it with your tongs. Think of the best steak ever and then think of an unlimited supply of it. All you can eat steak. The servers brought filet mignon, flank steak, rib eye steak, ribs, chicken, lamb, sausage and more. Each table also gets garlic mashed potatoes, sweet bananas as palate cleanser, and Brazilian cheese bread. My advice: GO HUNGRY!
Each guest receives a green and a red card. Flipping your card to green means you’re ready for more meat. Red means you’re still munching on a piece of meat.
A couple of times, I forgot to flip to red and two Gauchos appeared instantly. The servers are very attentive and super friendly.
The atmosphere at Texas de Brazil was awesome. This is a great spot for date nights as well as family/friends dinners.
Dessert didn’t disappoint, either. We agreed, the winner was the Brazilian cheesecake. We also tried the coconut pie and chocolate cake.
We had a wonderful time at Texas de Brazil and would definitely recommend this place.
