Welcome to Mom in Music City. I am Sabine and I blog about my adventures as a single mom to two adult children and a teen in Nashville. After living in Los Angeles for over 20 years, I packed my few belongings, grabbed the kids and dogs and moved to Music City.
When I am not working, I enjoy working on the fixer-upper I purchased in 2014. This could mean gutting the bathroom, refinishing hardwood floors, painting the exterior of the house, fixing my oven, building furniture, staining the deck, and whatever else falls in my lap. I became a DIYer because it’s the only way I could afford to get the look I wanted in our home.
My days aren’t all DIY and work. I also share snippets about Nashville, travel, food, beauty, and everything else I’m passionate about.
Hi Sabine, WELCOME to Tennessee. I live in Elizabethton, TN. Also, been through divorce….rough. Just came across your site. You have a beautiful family and cute little doggies. Hope you like living in TN…..many beautiful places to see!
Hi Terri. Thank you so much for commenting on my site… it truly makes my day. Sorry to hear about your divorce… it can be really tough. We love Nashville, especially in the fall. Have a great day!
My husband and I discovered Nashville when my son was stationed at Fort Campbell. I felt that I could never leave that town… Street musicians, sight seeing, wonderful people, and ” Antique Archeology”, great shopping, the Grand Old Opery tour, and so on, and so on! We’ve been three times, once with our grandson, who loved the history of the battlegrounds of the South. I wish We could go back every year,!
Marilyn, that’s how I feel about Nashville, too. It’s a great city with great people. Thanks for taking the time to comment and I hope you get to visit Nashville again.
Hey Sabine,
I am definitely going to try building the island; so glad I found your post! I have only known one other Sabine in my life. She was a graphic designer and we worked together for a while in Atlanta. I am also a divorcee with three kids who just bought a fixer-upper. Talk about parallels! Best to you!
