American Flag on Wood

Even though I wasn’t born in this country, America is and has been my home for many, many years. I went to college here, was married here, and my three children were born here. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

Lately, I have been enjoying making crafts and art from old wood that I have sitting in my backyard. The previous owners had a fence that fell over soon after I moved in. There was really no reason for this small fence, so I tore down the entire thing. Now I have plenty of wood to work with.

Recently, I painted the ocean on wood and created this cute table centerpiece.

I always wanted the American flag on old wood. I know it’s been done hundreds of times by other bloggers, but I don’t care because I really wanted one.

Since my divorce, my life has not always been easy, but with lots of hard work and determination I have been able to provide a good, stable, and happy home for my children. To me this is what this country is all about – with hard work, passion, heart, faith, and determination – the sky is the limit.

My new (old) flag will always remind me of that.
