I can’t believe it’s almost Easter! Didn’t we just celebrate New Year’s and put away the Christmas decorations? I haven never been big on Easter decor -not sure why- but aside from some plastic Easter eggs and a basket, I don’t really have anything. So this year I decided to make a couple Easter Egg Vases which can be used for flowers or other Easter things. I like the simplicity of these “eggs”. It’s definitely not over-the-top decor, but it adds just enough “Easter” to your table.
Materials needed:
Balloon
Mod Podge
White paper
Cup or glass to hold the balloon
Paintbrush
Blow up a balloon to the desired “egg” size. Cut paper into squares or small stripes.
Apply Mod Podge to the balloon and paper. Don’t cover the entire balloon.
I added two layers of paper until I could no longer see the balloon. Apply Mod Podge all over the balloon. I used my hands to smooth out the paper.
Let the balloon dry completely. The paper needs to feel stiff and hard. Pop the balloon and remove it from the egg. Cut around the edges to make it look like an egg.
I looked everywhere for a little white bunny to put inside the egg. No luck! I ended up buying a little white bird at Michael’s. The bunny is a paper cut-out.
How is your Easter decor coming along? I’d love to hear what you’ve created.
