Easy DIY Pallet Bench

I’ve been meaning to make something with pallets for a while now. So when I came across a pile of pallets in downtown Nashville, I loaded up the car and took the babies home. Since today is the first day of fall, I was ready to bring out my fall décor. Don’t have much yet… just a few items I found at estate sales, but I’m still adding to the pile.

Today I built a small pallet bench for my fall items. I didn’t follow any plan – I just used what I had on hand; measured, cut, screwed and sanded. I enjoyed building this bench, but taking the pallets apart was a whole different story. No cuts, but several blisters for sure!

It all started with this huge pile. The spider was busy working on her web, while I was busy taking apart the wood.

I love the dents and flaws in the wood. The letters are kinda funky too.

Happy Fall!

I can’t believe you did this without a plan. You’re incredible. Also the spider, eek!

Making furniture is really not that hard as long as you have the right tools and you enjoy it. As for the spider, it goes with my fall/Halloween decor.

This looks great. How did get those pallets apart? I am still trying to figure that out. I had one that I tore apart pretty easy. I made a table out of that one. But the others have proven to be an impossible task. However, I will not let it defeat me. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous table.

Hi, Trish. Thanks for stopping by. I know what you mean about the pallets. I almost gave up on one piece. Some pieces have nails and screws… you do get your workout, but it’s fun to create a piece of furniture from something that would otherwise end up in the garbage.
