Here’s a quick weekend DIY. I made a poster frame for my son’s favorite Minecraft poster. This is what it used to look. The poster was just taped to the wall. It’s made of sturdier poster board and it kept sliding down the wall. I even tried tacks, without success.
This frame was so easy to make. I spent $2.14 on two 1x2s and $0.95 on a pack of picture frame hanging hardware. The poster size is 3ft. x 2ft.
I cut the boards half an inch longer than the actual poster since I needed to create an overlap for the poster to sit on. I cut my own boards, but Home Depot or Lowe’s will cut them for you.
I made a couple of pilot holes first so my wood wouldn’t split when the screws went in.I sanded the pieces and painted them white. You could also stain them.Next, I stapled the poster to the frame. The half an inch I added to each side meant the poster sat on the frame comfortably.I added the hanging hardware. My son is happy with his “new” Minecraft art.

March 17, 2015That looks so much better than just hanging the poster on the wall! And so easy and light too, you don’t even need the glass in the front
