Elegant Front Door with Modern Masters Front Door Paint

This is a sponsored post where I received free product in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have worked on the interior of the house a lot since we moved in, so this spring I decided to tackle the exterior, which includes the front door and exterior house paint. I started with the front door.

First I  removed the storm door since it had several issues. The storm door was loud, it wouldn’t lock, and one of the springs was broken. The front door, however, was in great shape. No need to replace it since paint can do wonders. When I received the opportunity to try a new line of paint by Modern Masters – designed specifically for the front door – I was really excited.

Front Door Paint

Modern Masters Never-Fades FRONT DOOR Paint is very different from any paint I have ever used. It doesn’t drip and it almost goes on like a stain. The paint has very little odor and I love the plastic container the paint comes in. I am very impressed with this product and I would highly recommend it. Since I was after the timeless, classic look, I chose the color “Elegant”.

Next I had to fill in the holes from the storm door. I used epoxy for that.

Once they dried, I sanded them down and painted the trim white.

I taped off the glass and hardware. Of course you can take off the door knob or even the entire door. I had no problems painting it this way.

This is  after the first coat of paint. The paint instructions say that two coats are needed. The paint dries in less than an hour and you can recoat in two hours.

Here’s the door after two coats.

The black paint color is rich and will never fade. It’s simply elegant.

Black Front Door

I am very happy with the outcome. Changing the color of the front door can make a huge difference to your home’s curb appeal. The project was headache-free and fast, allowing me to move on to my next task: painting the house exterior.

If you don’t care for black, Modern Masters offers 24 front door paint colors. Modern Masters is available at selected Lowe’s and local retailers as well as online via Amazon, HomeDepot.com or the Modern Masters online shop.

If you have any questions about this project or product, don’t be shy, leave me a comment!

***Modern Masters provided the paint for this project, however, all opinions are 100% mine.

Not at all. This paint is specifically made for front doors. It only took two coats. It’s still holding up great despite heat, humidity, rain, ice, snow… Would highly recommend.

Just want to say THANK YOU! We bought the house with the exact same door. I received a quote for 4K to modernize & replace the front door and storm door. Needless to say, your website pushed me to give Modern Masters Elegance a try. It’s breathtaking! Now I just need to tackle the storm door!
