A few years back I started making my own facial scrub with lemons and sugar. I loved it – my skin always felt so fresh and smooth after each use. But lately my skin has been dry and flaky and since I love facial scrubs I didn’t want to give them up completely. I replaced the lemons with coconut oil  and added a few drops of tea tree oil. Coconut oil has so many health benefits. (more info here)

To make my face scrub I used Apothecary Extracts 100% pure Australian Tea Tree Oil. This oil is pure, harvested from the leaves of a tree native to Australia. The oil was traditionally used by aborigines as a topical agent for the skin. I received a free sample from Apothecary Extracts and couldn’t wait to use such a high-end product on my face. Many essential oils are diluted to cut costs. Apothecary Extracts says “they have the tests to prove their oil is pure and potent.”
