I love everything about fall. And even though the chill of fall hasn’t set in yet (probably because we are still in summer), it’s not too early to take a trip to an apple orchard. Yesterday, my daughter Melody and I visited Nashville’s Breeden’s Orchard. This friendly family-owned business has peaches in the summer and apples and fresh apple cider in the fall. Breeden’s Orchard also has a Pie Kitchen and a Country Store and is located in Mt. Juliet, TN.
This was only our second visit to the orchard, but let me tell you, being out in the country surrounded by nature, old barns and hay, really clears your head and takes you back to simpler times.
The apples are delicious, and we can’t wait to create some yummy apple treats. We were thinking apple strudel, apple crisp, and apple cake.
If you have never visited an orchard, put it on your fall to-do-list. It’s a fun and inexpensive outing the whole family can enjoy. And you bring home great tasting apples.
