Summertime is just about here and if you have kids, you know that you need to get the “snack” situation in order. In our home, I have a “snack station” for my kids in the fridge. In between meals and throughout the day, they get hungry. I don’t always have time to prepare the snacks so I have them packaged up and ready to go ahead of time. Fruit is very popular in our home – my kids eat it by the masses. I like to store my fruit in mason jars for two reasons:
I purchased my mason jars but you can use any old glass jar you happen to have on hand.
Since school is already out, I wanted to add a couple of fun products to my fridge snack station. My kids enjoy the new topped with fruit, Reddi-wip®, nuts and pretzels. It’s refreshing and keeps them cool during the hot summer months. I purchased the Super Snack Juicy Gel at my local Walmart.
My son loves riding his bike around our neighborhood and when he comes back in, his cheeks are red, hair is sweaty and his tummy needs fuel. He knows the drill; after he washes his hands, he can help himself at the “snack station.”
Everything he needs is there and it’s fun and easy for him to create a healthy and refreshing snack each time.Summer is a great time to enjoy sweet berries. We also love kiwi, pineapple and watermelon.By keeping your fridge or pantry full, with ready-to-eat snacks, the kids are more apt to eat them when they are hungry. If they are not washed and ready to go, the kids are not likely to eat them. There is nothing better than finding an empty jar and knowing one of my kids were busy munching on fruit.
The instructions for these Snack Pack fruit cups are so easy:

June 2, 2015Great ideas!! My kids love fruit but it can be a pain to have to prep it every time, I love the idea of having a little station where they can just help themselves instead! #client

November 1, 2015I am diabetic, so I imagine the “snack pak” products contain sugar, or, maybe there is a sugar free version, or, an alternative to the “snack paks”? The plan is to plant fruit trees and berry bushes, vines, canes, and plants, so, in another year or two, I’ll have beau-coup fruit and berries. Hopefully, I’ll learn to make preserves, and can a lot of fruit.

November 1, 2015Growing my own fruits is something I plan on doing next spring. I’m sure your preserves will turn out just great. 🙂
