Mom in Music City Site Redesign

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you have an outstanding 2019.

I have been a little busy over here. During my Christmas break, I finally gave my site a makeover. It’s not that I wasn’t happy with my old design, but it was clearly time for a refresh. After Christmas, I installed a new theme (Hello Friday Theme), which may not seem like a big deal, and it isn’t, unless you have years of posts and images to deal with. In my case, I had 472 posts that needed attention.

Here are the changes I made and things I added:

  • Slider
  • Grid Layout instead of Full Post: This makes my other posts more visible
  • Instagram Footer
  • Responsive Theme:
Offers an optimal user experience across various devices. My old theme was outdated and didn’t work well on mobile devices.
  • Cleaner look: The theme came with lots of options for fonts, colors, lists, etc. I hope you’ll find that it’s much more organized, a better mobile experience, more visually appealing, and easy to navigate.

There are still a few things I want to change around, but overall, I’m very happy with the outcome. This site started out as a hobby to document our move from Los Angeles to Nashville. When I started, I knew NOTHING about blogging. One day, I just felt like doing it. After lots of research and hard work, I was able to figure it all out. Here’s my first post.

This site has become so much more than just a hobby for me. Although I’m not a full time blogger (I have a full time job), I still love taking the time to write and am so happy to see this blog grow, thanks to my amazing readers. I love reading and replying to your comments. Please, continue bringing them! Without you, Mom in Music City wouldn’t be what it is today. Thank you.
