My Routine Workout Moves

workout14So today I’m talking fitness. I have been involved with fitness since I was 4 years old when I enrolled in gymnastics – which I absolutely loved. I was very competitive, but at 16, my gymnastics dreams came to an end when I injured my leg.  But I never stopped exercising. Exercising is part of my daily routine, just like brushing teeth. It gives me energy, lifts my mood, and my butt (and who doesn’t like that?).

My workout routine is pretty simple yet consistent.  I am not a huge fan of fancy gyms or weird, complicated workout equipment. I have tried the gym, and it’s not really my cup of tea. I prefer being outside, and walking is my favorite thing to do. I walk year-long – even when it’s 30 degrees outside. In my opinion, walking is the best exercise. Anyone can do it. All you need is a good pair of shoes. I love it.

In addition to walking, I like old-fashioned lunges, planks, sit ups and push ups. It’s what I did as a kid, and I still do it. Once again, no fancy equipment necessary. These are some of my favorite workouts, and I swear, they work for me. They give me the extra energy boost and stimulate my circulation.

workout13I usually walk for 30 – 60 minutes each day. My neighborhood has lots of steep hills, which is an added bonus to my walk. Tricep Dips are great if you want to get rid of those bat wings. You know the flappy stuff on your arm when you wave goodbye?!

workout8My gymnastics teacher would make us do planks all the time. And I know why. This move takes care of your entire body. Planks are my go to best overall workout.

workout5workout6Lunges are very old-fashioned, yet so effective. They really tone your legs. I like to add 5 lbs weights for strength training.
workout2I usually do 20 repetitions for each move.

These are all really simple moves but they help me get toned and energized.

That’s all for today. Thanks for reading!
