Ocean Wall Art from Recycled Wood

These days, beach decor is my favorite. I love the freshness and simplicity of beach décor. It brings the ocean indoors – something I haven’t seen since we moved to Nashville almost two years ago.

My living room needed a dash of turquoise and blue, so I decided to paint the ocean. My art work was inspired by this painting, created by Aimee Weaver. She did a fantastic job painting the ocean on old barn wood.

For this project, I used recycled wood from my old fence. I am very happy with the painting; it was a fun and simple project and I love how it adds a pop of color to my living room.

I used a piece of plywood to hold the wood together. I also attached the picture hanging hardware.

I chose different shades of blue, white, grey, and turquoise (whatever I could find around the house).

Then I just started painting away. You really can’t go wrong here.
