Three Delicious Fall Recipes

This morning I stepped outside and truly felt the autumn chill in the air. I think I even saw a little bit of frost on the ground, which means Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. Of course, we can’t forget about Halloween. It’s my son’s favorite holiday and this year, upon his request, I skipped all the cute Halloween decorations and brought out the ‘semi-gore.’

The house is ready for Trick-or-Treaters, but he still hasn’t decided on a costume. Here’s where we stand right now – He wants to be something scary, but not something that you would expect to be scary. A zombie, for example, is not scary because you know it will be scary. Same with a vampire or demon. A scary clown was on top of his list for about a minute, as was a scary puppet. Neither costume impressed him enough, though.

Last year was easy. Early on he announced he wanted to wear a hamburger costume. I was delighted since this gave me plenty of time to come up with a DIY version.

In the meantime, we are having some fall fun with apple picking, corn mazes, hay rides and pumpkin patches. Nashville is fabulous in the fall.  And what would fall be without baking?
